Five-star lighting in Andermatt
In the Swiss hotel “The Chedi”, more than 1000 sensor-controlled LEDCity tubes have been used as retrofits in the corridors, car park and some adjoining rooms since 2021. Thanks to the automatic regulation of light intensity and duration, energy savings of 78 per cent have been achieved despite previously installed motion detectors. This results in annual savings of around 70,000 kilowatt hours, which corresponds to the average annual electricity consumption of around 14 households. In contrast to many retrofit light sources from other manufacturers, most LEDCity light sources are eligible for subsidies. This enabled the five-star hotel to cover a total of CHF 19,090 of the investment costs of CHF 89,537.
