Calculation basis.
For conventional FL (fluorescent) lighting, we assume that 1.2 meter long FL tubes with an output of 39 watts (including the output of the ballast) are used and that the operating time is 16 hours. This assumption is based on the sluggish control and long run-on times of central motion detectors.
For LED lighting, we assume 1.2 meter long LED-light sources with an output of 18 watts. The operating time is also 16 hours, as the central motion detectors remain unchanged. This results in energy savings of 52%. In the case of the LEDCity lighting system, the calculation is based on 1.2 meter long intelligent LED light sources with an output of 18 watts. The switch from conventional FL lighting to LEDCity not only results in a change in terms of output, but also in the operating hours of the light sources. Demand-controlled lighting reduces the operating time by 50% to 80%*. This enables savings of up to 91% compared to conventional FL systems and up to 80% compared to conventional LED lighting systems.
